I recently dropped in to the K11 Art Mall in Tsim Sha Tsui East to check out the latest exhibition in this unusual mall come gallery space. The Fascination / Imagination exhibition combines the works of emerging Chinese creatives, including artists, designers, dancers and cinematographers. Originally presented at Paris Fashion Week, the exhibition has now moved to Hong Kong, hoping to ‘inspire curiosity, unleash dreams, strike new thoughts and out-of-the-world imaginations.’ The exhibition itself is compact, split into two corners of the K11 mall, the first level being particularly challenging to find, venturing through a clothes store before reaching the artworks. I enjoyed taking a look at the few pieces I saw, particularly the Charles Guo photography, merging art, fashion, photography and technology, it’s no surprise he is highly sought after for his editorial style and voted one of China’s top ten photographers. The exhibition runs until the 12th May, if you’re in the area head over to the Art Mall and see what you think. By Claire Johnson

It was inspiring to walk around the showroom and admire the one-of-the kind vintage pieces found and collected by Irene. The history and story behind these pieces are most fascinating, especially the turn of the century pieces like the double dressers and LV luggages with the original owner’s initials and travel stamps. The furnitures are also available for photography or film production rental where Irene explains that she wants to add value and story to each of the pieces. It’s not just about buying and selling them but having a great journey and story with the pieces. The space works very well with the special exhibition put together by Claudia from Platform China which has a very different feel from the collection at Platform China’s main showroom. And the conversation got very lively and colorful with previews from Tangram’s latest clothing and accessories collection. The fashion, art, and vintage furniture all came together as they showed us […]
