For the first time Art Basel is coming to Hong Kong, showcasing artistic spectacles of both established and emerging talents. Already successful in Basel and Miami Beach, this new addition to the Hong Kong art scene hopes to bring extensive opportunities for discovery and creation for artists, curators, collectors and visitors.
The show will trace 12 decades of art history across four sectors. The Galleries section will present 20th and 21st century pieces from over 170 contemporary galleries, including paintings, sculptures and installations. In Insights you’ll find projects developed specifically for the Hong Kong show, exclusively by Asia and Asia-Pacific artists. Discoveries aims to give a global platform to emerging artists from all over the world, and Encounters is dedicated to large scale sculptures and installations, transcending the traditional art fair stands.
If you want to get a better understanding of the exhibitions, you can attend one of the talks and panel discussions with artists and collectors free of charge. To help you plan your visit, there’s a daily event schedule, show guide and floor plan all available online.
